1/6/2025 (Permalink)

The holiday season is upon us, and while we celebrate, it's crucial to keep safety in mind. Here at SERVPRO of Fayette, Haywood, Hardeman & Lauderdale Counties, we want to ensure your holidays are safe and joyful.Decorate Safely:

  • Use flame-resistant or retardant decorations.
  • Keep live Christmas trees hydrated to prevent them from becoming fire hazards.
  • Ensure lights are in good condition and UL approved.
Cooking Safety:
  • Never leave cooking food unattended.
  • Keep flammable items like kitchen towels and curtains away from heat sources.
  • Have a fire extinguisher accessible in the kitchen.
Candle Caution:
  • Opt for battery-operated candles where possible.
  • If you use real candles, never leave them burning when you leave the room or go to sleep.
  • Keep candles at least 12 inches from anything that can burn.
Be Ready for Emergencies:
  • Test your smoke alarms monthly; replace batteries if needed.
  • Plan an escape route and practice it with your family.
  • Keep emergency numbers, including SERVPRO's, handy for immediate response if needed.
Remember, a small precaution can prevent a major disaster, allowing you to enjoy the season without worry. Should the unthinkable happen, we're equipped to handle fire damage restoration, getting you back to normal quickly.
